In conjunction with the Boston Housing Authority, Greater Boston Legal Services (GBLS) runs a project to help residents seal their criminal records in the Massachusetts system. This makes it easier for people with criminal convictions to find jobs and access better housing.
Interested students must complete a training to learn how to seal Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) files – date TBD – and can then work with residents to seal their files. This is a great opportunity to have a direct impact in our community and also to get practical skills while learning about an important aspect of the Massachusetts criminal justice system.
If you are interested in participating, please let us know, and we will let you know when the next training is organized.
